Youth group for  years 7 to 9

6:30 Fridays during school term

114 Onslow Rd, Shenton Park

Solid Rock is the junior youth group for St Matthew's Church, and the middle schoolers in the area. We're a Christian community that really care about three things: Jesus, the Bible and each other. We meet on Friday nights, Sundays and for a camp together during the year.

What we do

Friday nights

Solid Rock meets for two hours on Friday nights from 6:30pm at St Matthew's Church, 114 Onslow Road. Designed for years 7-9, it is active and engaging, full of fun, friends and food.

The evening begins with games and hang-out time where everyone from years 7 to 12 has the opportunity to chat together or chuck a ball around. The junior and senior groups then split for dinner, and Solid Rock gets to enjoy more games and fun times with their leaders. The highlight of the evening is a chance to read, study and think about a passage of the Bible together, and then pray.

The evening wraps up around 8:30pm.

$5 per child to cover the cost of dinner would be enormously helpful.

Sundays

Solid Rock meets again on Sundays for Bible studies at the Rosalie and 4pm services. Bible studies are a great way to get to know Jesus and each other better.

Chris Roberts

Associate Minister Youth Chris was raised to love all that this world offers, until he was introduced to Jesus by an elderly Sunday School teacher. It wasn't exciting. It wasn't flashy. But being lovingly told about the God who loved, lived, died, and rose for him, changed him forever. Chris has worked with teenagers for 15 years. He is married to Karen and they have one son. Chris enjoys spreadsheets, woodwork, and entertaining; and longs to see more young people excited about Jesus.
