AN UPDATE ON OUR PLANS FOR THE COMING WEEKS
Following Australian Government regulations as of 20th March 2020, St Matthew's has paused all upcoming scheduled events and activities, including Playgroup, ESL and our Sunday servcies.
Our Growth Groups will pause regular gatherings, but continue to connect and communicate to love and support each other and open God's Word during this time. If you would like to be connected to a Growth Group, or otherwise need care and support, please email email@example.com or call (08) 9381 2640.
At St Matthew's we meet in small groups during the week to read the Bible, pray, and share our lives together. We call these Growth Groups.
We have a variety of Growth Groups for every age and stage of life, which meet on different days, mornings or evenings, in homes around Perth or at St Matthew's Church in Shenton Park.
We would love for you to consider joining a group – and committing to growing together with other people in community. To get involved fill out a connect card at one of our services on Sunday or send us an email.

St Matthew’s Community Playgroup is an exciting environment for children up to 4 years that meets on Tuesday mornings during school term from 9.30 -11.30am.
Each Tuesday features free play, including a craft activity, followed by morning tea and music time together.
Activities for the children include climbing and balancing equipment, trike riding, painting, colouring, play dough, craft activities, lego, train sets, dolls house, puzzles, sand pit, water play and much more.
A 20 minute music time concludes the morning where the children are encouraged to play percussion instruments and sing along to nursery rhymes (accompanied by a pianist).
Volunteers from the St. Matthew’s church community set up all the equipment and serve morning tea to both the adults and children.
Our aim is for the children to explore and develop many skills outside of what the home environment may provide. We want to support and encourage parents/ caregivers in the vital role that they play in the life of their child/children. Parent evenings and short courses on Christianity are also offered through the year to our playgroup carers and parents.
Members pay a fee of $35 per term (per family) to cover basic costs. Each family is also encouraged to bring along a piece of fruit to be cut up and shared for the children’s morning tea.
There is usually a short waiting list (however don’t let this deter you from making enquiries).
While playgroup is most suited to children from about 1 year of age, we have many babies who come (often as siblings). Babies who may need a morning sleep are welcome to be put down in their prams in the main church (which is usually kept fairly dark and quiet).
Who is Jesus?
Why did Jesus come?
What does it mean for us?
We all get one life to live and deep down we’re all asking the same question – what’s it all about?
If you, or a friend, have been asking big questions like this, we'd love you to join us for Christianity Explored - a 6 week course investigating Jesus.
We are passionate about helping women connect in community and grow in their faith. Throughout the year there are several special events, as well as some Women's Growth Groups. No matter your age or stage of life, if you are a women we would love to have you!
Prayer is how we talk to God, bringing before him our praise, thanks, requests and anxieties. There are many ways to be involved in prayer at St Matthew's. You can find our monthly prayer diaries at our Sunday services or in the church foyer, with a prayer for each day of the month.
Each term we meet on a Wednesday night for St Matthew's Prayer, to join together in thanking God for the work he has done in our church and pray for the mission of the church in the upcoming term.
On the first Saturday of the month we have a prayer breakfast to pray for our Global Gospel Partners as they seek to serve God in mission fields around the world.
At St Matthew's, we believe marriage is a gift from God and love to help couples prepare well for a lifetime together.
We offer marriage preparation which includes a marriage course designed to help any couple develop strong foundations for a lasting marriage.
Couples then meet with one of our ministers to discuss this material and some Bible studies on God's purposes for our lives and for marriage.
We encourage couples to join one of our congregations. Please contact our office to enquire about marriage or marriage preparation.
We encourage new followers of Jesus Christ to be baptised as a testimony of their faith and a sign of the new life God has graciously given them in Christ.
We also welcome the baptism of infant children born into Christian families who attend St Matthews. For baptism of children, we believe that the Christian faith of the parents is vital if the child is to grow in the faith and confess the faith when they are able.
We also offer prayers of thanksgiving for the birth of a child and dedication of children. If you would like to enquire about baptism, thanksgiving or dedication, please contact the minister of the congregation you attend or our office.
