Common Ground is the senior youth group for St Matthew's Church, and the high schoolers in the area. We're a Christian community that really care about three things: Jesus, the Bible and each other. We meet on Friday nights, Sundays and for a week long camp in Albany at the start of the year.
What we do
Common Ground meets for two hours on Friday nights from 6:30pm at St Matthew's Church, 114 Onslow Road. Designed for years 10-12, it is intelligent without being intellectual, mature without being old. We have dinner together and enjoy one another's company, but the highlight of the evening is a chance to read, study and think about a passage of the Bible together, and then pray. The evening wraps up around 8:30pm.
$5 to cover the cost of dinner would be enormously helpful.
Common Ground meets again on Sundays for Bible studies at 4:30pm at houses around Shenton Park, where we have some dinner, then head to Unichurch (6:30pm) at the Social Sciences Lecture Theatre at UWA. Bible studies are a great way to get to know Jesus and each other better.

Meet the Team
Chris was raised to love all that this world offers, until he was introduced to Jesus by an elderly Sunday School teacher. It wasn't exciting. It wasn't flashy. But being lovingly told about the God who loved, lived, died, and rose for him, changed him forever. Chris has worked with teenagers for 15 years. He is married to Karen and they have one son. Chris enjoys spreadsheets, woodwork, and entertaining; and longs to see more young people excited about Jesus.
