St Matthew's Cadetship
WHY do a St Matthew’s Cadetship?
We hope all St Matthew’s people catch the vision of living for Jesus with all of life (1 Cor 10:31). However, sometimes we find ourselves with extra time, energy or resources. The St Matthew’s cadetship provides a way for members to use those things in the service of our church.
WHAT is it?
It’s a part-time volunteer role for St Matthew’s members seeking to serve the church in a more formal capacity.
A cadetship is tailored around the current needs of the church and your gifts, passions, and time available. For example: a cadet might give 1 day/week to website development and church media production. Cadets receive one-to-one discipleship from St Matthew’s staff and the opportunity to see inside the St Matthew’s ministry by attending staff meetings and staff training events.
Special year 12 leavers and summer break programs also exist for those wishing to serve as cadets. You can find a full information sheet for the leavers cadetship here.
WHO should apply?
Any St Matthew’s member wishing to serve the church in an organized way.
HOW is it supported?
The cadetship is a volunteer role and is not financial supported. However, cadets receive practical support, training and encouragement in their role as they serve alongside St Matthew’s staff.
"Doing a cadetship gave me a wealth of opportunities to learn from Christ centred people, and to consider how to formally (and informally) serve Jesus."
